Enabling Secure Streamer for a Group: Configure Streamer IP and Ports
This guide will help you securely access DVRs within a private network from your desktop. You’ll be able to monitor live footage, adjust streaming settings, and manage multiple DVRs while ensuring high security and minimal latency. Follow these steps to enable Secure Streaming in Smart Surveillance VMS:
Step 1: Open the Smart Surveillance VMS Application
- Launch the Smart Surveillance VMS application on your desktop or monitoring station.
Step 2: Navigate to Settings
- Once the application is open, locate and click on the Settings option in the main menu.
Step 3: Select Feature Selection
- In the Settings window, find and click on Feature Selection. This section allows you to enable or disable specific features in the VMS.
Step 4: Enable Secure Streaming and User Management View
- In the Feature Selection window, locate the option for Secure Streaming and enable it by checking the box.
- Additionally, enable User Management View to allow access to user-specific configurations for Secure Streaming.
- Click Apply or Save to confirm the selection.
Step 5: Navigate to User Management Settings
- Go back to the Settings menu, and now find the User Management section.
- Click to open User Management. This is where you will configure access for individual users.
Step 6: Select the User for Secure Streaming Access
- In the User Management window, locate and select the user who will require access to Secure Streaming.
- Once the user is selected, the settings panel will appear on the right.
Step 7: Choose the Appropriate Group
- In the settings panel, select the group to which the user belongs. The group will define the level of access and permissions for Secure Streaming.
Step 8: Enable Secure Streaming for the User
- In the Secure Streaming Server Settings section, enable Secure Streaming by checking the box or switching the toggle to “On.”
Step 9: Configure the Host Name/IP Address, Admin Port, and Streaming Port
- Enter the Host Name/IP Address of the DVR or streaming server in the appropriate field.
- Set the Admin Port and Streaming Port values. These ports are necessary for the secure connection to the DVR system.
- Admin Port: This port is used for administrative access to the DVR.
- Streaming Port: This port allows for the secure transmission of live video footage.
Step 10: Save Changes
- Once all configurations are complete, click Save Changes to apply the settings. This will ensure that the user has the necessary access to securely stream video.
Step 11: Start Video Monitoring
- After applying the settings, go to the main interface and start video monitoring.
- You should now be able to view live footage from the DVR, ensuring a secure and seamless streaming experience.
