Instant Recording and Snapshots
The Smart Surveillance VMS provides the capability to capture live video footage and snapshots during monitoring. This feature is essential for documenting security events, preserving evidence, and analysing critical incidents in real-time. The recorded footage and snapshots can be accessed later for review and reporting.
Instant Recording
The Instant Recording feature allows users to record live footage from a selected camera whenever required. This helps in capturing specific incidents without relying solely on pre-configured recording schedules.
Steps to Record Instantly:
- Open the Live View of the desired camera in the Smart Surveillance VMS.
- Locate the REC (Record) option in the tools panel below the live feed.
- Click on the REC button to initiate the recording process. The camera feed will continue recording until the REC option is clicked again to stop the recording.
- Once the recording is stopped, a pop-up notification will confirm that the recording has been successfully saved.
- The pop-up will display two options:
- Open Video – Directly plays the recorded video.
- Open Folder – Opens the directory where the recording is stored.
Locating Recorded Videos Manually:
If the pop-up notification is missed, follow these steps to find the recorded videos:
- Navigate to Settings from the top menu.
- Select General Settings.
- Expand the Storage Settings section.
- Click on Open Video Folder to access the directory where recorded videos are stored.
- The recorded videos are organized into folders based on:
- Recording Date
- DVR/NVR Name
- Camera Name
Taking a Snapshot
Snapshots allow users to capture still images from the live feed. This feature is useful for quick documentation, identifying security events, and sharing visual evidence.
Steps to Take a Snapshot:
- Open the Live View of the required camera in Smart Surveillance VMS.
- Locate the Camera Icon (Snapshot button) in the tools panel below the live feed.
- Click on the Snapshot button to capture an image of the current live feed.
- A confirmation pop-up will appear with two options:
- Open Image – Opens the captured snapshot.
- Open Folder – Opens the directory where the snapshot is saved.
Locating Snapshots Manually:
If the confirmation pop-up is missed, follow these steps to find the snapshot:
- Navigate to Settings from the top menu.
- Select General Settings.
- Expand the Storage Settings section.
- Click on Open Image Folder to access the directory where snapshots are stored.
- Snapshots are organized into folders based on:
- Date of Capture
- DVR/NVR Name
- Camera Name
