Monitoring

Monitoring is the continuous observation of activities to ensure security and compliance. It helps detect issues early, improve efficiency, and support informed decision-making. Effective monitoring involves real-time tracking, data collection, and analysis to maintain stability and prevent failures.

There are three types of monitoring:

  1. Preset Monitoring
  2. Event Monitoring
  3. Timeline Monitoring

1. Preset Monitoring

Preset Monitoring allows automated switching between predefined views or DVR/NVRs based on set rules.

View Rotation Rule

Plays user-created views sequentially without manual intervention. Once activated, views switch automatically at a defined time interval.

Creating View Rotation Rule

  1. Go to Monitoring.
  2. Navigate to Preset Monitoring and right-click on it.
  3. Select Create View Rotation Rule.
  4. Select the Preset Groups.
  5. Choose the Preset Interval.
  6. Select Continuous Mode.
  7. Enter a Rule Name.
  8. Click Add Rule to save the settings.

DVR Rotation Rule

Automatically switches between DVR/NVR live views based on a time interval.

Creating DVR Rotation Rule

  1. Go to Monitoring.
  2. Navigate to Preset Monitoring and right-click on it.
  3. Select DVR Rotation Rule.
  4. Select the DVRs.
  5. Choose the Preset Interval.
  6. Select Continuous Mode.
  7. Enter a Rule Name.
  8. Click Add Rule to save the settings.

2. Event Monitoring

Tracks anomalies based on motion detection. When motion is detected in front of a camera, the feed pops up in the VMS.

Creating Event Monitoring

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Open General Settings.
  3. Navigate to Advanced Settings.
  4. Enable DVR Alarms.
  5. Go to Monitoring.
  6. Navigate to Event Monitoring.
  7. Right-click and select Create Profile.
  8. Select the Preset Groups.
  9. Choose Motion Alert as the event type.
  10. Select Continuous Mode.
  11. Enter a Rule Name.
  12. Click Add Profile to save the settings.

3. Timeline Monitoring

Timeline Monitoring follows scheduled rules. There are two types:

  • Time-Based Timeline: Activates preset rules at a specific time.
  • Duration-Based Timeline: Activates preset rules for a set duration.

Creating Time-Based Timeline

  1. Go to Monitoring.
  2. Select Timeline Monitoring and right-click on it.
  3. Choose Create Time-Based Timeline.
  4. Enter a Rule Name.
  5. Select the Preset Rules.
  6. Click Move to add them.
  7. Set the Time for each preset.
  8. Click Add Rule to save the settings.

Creating Duration-Based Timeline

  1. Go to Monitoring.
  2. Select Timeline Monitoring and right-click on it.
  3. Choose Create Duration-Based Timeline.
  4. Enter a Rule Name.
  5. Select the Preset Rules.
  6. Click Move to add them.
  7. Set the Duration for each preset.
  8. Click Add Rule to save the settings.
