Monitoring
Monitoring is the continuous observation of activities to ensure security and compliance. It helps detect issues early, improve efficiency, and support informed decision-making. Effective monitoring involves real-time tracking, data collection, and analysis to maintain stability and prevent failures.
There are three types of monitoring:
- Preset Monitoring
- Event Monitoring
- Timeline Monitoring
1. Preset Monitoring
Preset Monitoring allows automated switching between predefined views or DVR/NVRs based on set rules.
View Rotation Rule
Plays user-created views sequentially without manual intervention. Once activated, views switch automatically at a defined time interval.
Creating View Rotation Rule
- Go to Monitoring.
- Navigate to Preset Monitoring and right-click on it.
- Select Create View Rotation Rule.
- Select the Preset Groups.
- Choose the Preset Interval.
- Select Continuous Mode.
- Enter a Rule Name.
- Click Add Rule to save the settings.
DVR Rotation Rule
Automatically switches between DVR/NVR live views based on a time interval.
Creating DVR Rotation Rule
- Go to Monitoring.
- Navigate to Preset Monitoring and right-click on it.
- Select DVR Rotation Rule.
- Select the DVRs.
- Choose the Preset Interval.
- Select Continuous Mode.
- Enter a Rule Name.
- Click Add Rule to save the settings.
2. Event Monitoring
Tracks anomalies based on motion detection. When motion is detected in front of a camera, the feed pops up in the VMS.
Creating Event Monitoring
- Go to Settings.
- Open General Settings.
- Navigate to Advanced Settings.
- Enable DVR Alarms.
- Go to Monitoring.
- Navigate to Event Monitoring.
- Right-click and select Create Profile.
- Select the Preset Groups.
- Choose Motion Alert as the event type.
- Select Continuous Mode.
- Enter a Rule Name.
- Click Add Profile to save the settings.
3. Timeline Monitoring
Timeline Monitoring follows scheduled rules. There are two types:
- Time-Based Timeline: Activates preset rules at a specific time.
- Duration-Based Timeline: Activates preset rules for a set duration.
Creating Time-Based Timeline
- Go to Monitoring.
- Select Timeline Monitoring and right-click on it.
- Choose Create Time-Based Timeline.
- Enter a Rule Name.
- Select the Preset Rules.
- Click Move to add them.
- Set the Time for each preset.
- Click Add Rule to save the settings.
Creating Duration-Based Timeline
- Go to Monitoring.
- Select Timeline Monitoring and right-click on it.
- Choose Create Duration-Based Timeline.
- Enter a Rule Name.
- Select the Preset Rules.
- Click Move to add them.
- Set the Duration for each preset.
- Click Add Rule to save the settings.
